In addition to the convenient factory-installed equipment already on Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram or Fiat vehicles offered, you can have your vehicle upfitted to further accommodate your needs.
Here are some of the examples that qualify for reimbursement. Note that not all equipment is compatible with every Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram or Fiat vehicle. So check with your dealer or upfitter. Or check out the Adaptive Equipment Reference Chart on page 14 of Chrysler’s Automobility Program brochure.
Adaptive Controls
These include power-assisted hand controls and steering devices. Reduced-effort to zero-effort steering, brake and accelerator controls can be custom-fitted to the range and motion requirements of the operator.
Remote Control System
The automatic door and ramp functions are controlled by the standard keychain remote, dash-mounted switches, key entry system or the optional handheld remote.
Rear Door Lifts
Rear-mounted lifts are used for wheelchair loading access to the rear of the van, with the middle seat left in place for the ambulatory passenger. Rear lifts can be equipped with power door operation and remote control.
Seat Modifications
Certain seats on all of our vehicles can be altered to come out of the vehicle and lower to the ground.
Side Door Lifts
The side-mounted lift in a minivan is the most practical use of space, especially for persons who need to access the driving position by wheelchair. The rear bench seat and front-passenger seat may be retained. Several different lifts and ramps can be installed to meet a variety of needs for minivans that will transport one or more passengers.
